Life seemed to return to tranquility. I quit the job that required frequent social drinking and switched to a leisurely desk job. I clocked out on time every day, bought groceries, and cooked. Sophia was very obedient and never had another episode. But we both knew that the bomb still existed. On the night of the full moon, if there was even the slightest mistake, that scene would replay itself.
