On the day of the trial, the sky was a typical New York leaden grey.
Noah had dressed up for the occasion, wearing a dark blue suit that looked expensive. Ivy hadn't dared to show her face in court, but Marjorie came, sitting primly in the first row of the gallery, wearing a look of unconcealed smugness as she waited to watch my miserable downfall.
The lawyer Noah hired looked like a young man who
