On our third wedding anniversary, I spent my entire bonus to buy my husband a scarf, only to run into him at the mall picking out a diamond ring for his mistress.
"What would that haggard housewife know about romance?" he scoffed with disdain.
I calmly snapped a photo, turned around, and tossed the scarf into the nearest trash can.
Everyone thought I would cry and beg for him back. They didn't know I had already begun collecting evidence of his commercial bribery and asset diversion.
When he tried to force me out of the marriage with nothing but the clothes on my back in court, I publicly played the recordings of him and his mistress, the hotel logs, and the surveillance footage of his mother cursing me for being "barren."
This time, I didn't just want a divorce; I wanted him to rot in prison.
